Miji and Tha Beatsmith are set to release a new single entitled ‘Superstar’. Opening with a warm piano tone, the track showcases ever-changing dynamic textures as gentle afrobeat drums are brought in. This works hand in glove with a relishing vocal performance from Miji. Her lyrics paint the picture of someone with the confidence to succeed and the ability to back it up, but isn’t doing it to fit in with the crowd and for that reason is underestimated. The emotion in her performance drives this story home and the production from Tha Beatsmith gives the sentiment a platform to glide across.

Though Tha Beatsmith is currently based in Atlanta, Georgia, both him and Miji are originally from Lagos, Nigeria, they’ve come together for this project to prove themselves as the perfect partnership for making great music. Miji’s writing is influenced by her life experiences with people, her emotions and her environment, believing music is a spirit, that it works with whatever emotions and vibes are flowing through you within a given moment. Her voice creates a rich blend of RnB and Afro-fusion.

This project pairs Miji with the multi-genre producer Tha Beatsmith. The man behind projects from Paula B., Ogranya and the 2021 Headie Award nominated track ‘Bitter’ from Deena Ade. Tha Beatsmith started music in 2010 and over a decade in the production space has given him the experience to create incredibly catchy beats to present to artists as well as professional post-production abilities. He is currently spending his time working on multiple projects with LoFi and Hip-Hop music on the way continuing to grow off the back of his recent EP ‘YMWE’.

This project showcases the capability of both up-and-coming talents working on it. A bouncy, feel-good track that deserves a spot in everyone’s regular listening this summer.
