Midas The Jagaban ft: Tayc - Louis Vitty (Official Video)

Rising British-Nigerian Afro-pop artist Midas The Jagaban shares the video for her new single “Louis Vitty” featuring Tayc, from her recently announced EP “Midas Touch Vol 2: Return of the Mask”, set for release 17th November.

Featuring Cameroonian superstar Tayc, “Louis Vitty” slows down the pace with mellow, shuffling earworm melodies and infectious lyrics, following the dazzling and effervescent “More Vibes More Money”. Midas’ signature sound fuses the hypnotic energy of Afrobeats with R&B to create an exuberantly confident and uniquely thrilling sound. Rooted in South London with Nigerian heritage, Midas’ diasporan upbringing is etched into her floor-filling party anthems, ingrained with catchy beats and playful lyricism.

Set in Montpellier, South of France and directed by Remi Laudat, the artfully shot visual juxtaposes scenic imagery of the city with romantic glimpses of Midas and Tayc playfully courting the objects of their affections and dancing together in high spirits.  Remi delves into the video’s creation: “Midas and Tayc are hugely charismatic performers so it was a lot of fun to shoot this against the backdrop of Montpellier. To capture the quirkiness of Midas’ delivery, I thought it would be cool to take inspiration from the balcony scene in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and to see her fantasising about romantic adventures with her lover across the city.

Tayc’s verses ooze sultry vibes and are about falling in love, so I thought it would be great to see him organise a surprise romantic dinner for his lady, and to capture them enjoying the silky rhythms of the song.”

The latest single is just the next piece in the puzzle from a brand new chapter for Midas, as this year sees her cementing herself as an essential artist in the UK Afrobeats landscape and a global force to be reckoned with, watch this space for more.
