Manga Saint Hilare ft: JME + P Money - Alarm Bells (Single)

Following his recent MOBO nomination for Best Grime Act, Manga Saint Hilare releases new single ‘Alarm Bells’ taken from his new 16-track project ‘Everything Is Under Control’ due 16th February. Powered by jabbing production from MoreNight, ‘Alarm Bells’ featuring fellow Grime-linchpins JME and P Money carries a bold spirit throughout, led by Manga’s chorus echoing “different hype, different vibe, different heights, different mode, they said role out for no p’s so i didn’t go” to capture his intentions for the year ahead. The powerful trio resembles the dream Grime Avengers lineup that performed together at numerous Grime MC events last year. Manga recently announced his forthcoming UK tour, which will see him perform the upcoming project for the first time in Plymouth, Nottingham, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and London.

From the moment he shelled the standout verse on Roll Deep’s 2005 anthem ‘When I’m Ere’ - one of grime’s most impactful, instantly recognisable cuts - Manga Saint Hilare’s name has been synonymous with the game-changing genre. His career has spanned nearly two decades and has been redefined by a slew of increasingly innovative, deeply personal releases, which began in 2017 with ‘Outbursts From The Outskirts’. With that redefinition has come recognition: Manga toured his critically acclaimed ‘Run For Your Life’ album, culminating in a sold-out headline show at London’s iconic Jazz Cafe; his collaboration with Jelani Blackman - ‘Maybe Not’ - featured on the Fifa 23 soundtrack, bringing millions of new ears to his music; he’s gone global too, shelling down the stage at Prague’s Frontline Festival, and attending the Klasgame tournament in Finland; and he’s taken to the airwaves as a co-presenter on Sian Anderson’s Radio 1Xtra show. Since his artistic rebirth in 2017, personal themes have been at the core of Manga’s work, so the recent birth of his daughter provides the emotional centrepiece of his upcoming project.

JME has maintained his reputation at the forefront of Grime, having recently headlined at Fabric for an all-star takeover of his live pirate show, Grime MC. P Money ended the year strongly with his ‘Street’s Love And Other Stuff’ project in collaboration with Drum and Bass artist/producer Whiney.

On the upcoming project ‘Everything Is Under Control’ - produced in its entirety by MoreNight - Manga continues to grow as an artist and a person, leaping over sonic boundaries while still being powered by grime’s propulsive, forward energy. At the core is a battle between paranoia and safety, which Manga has been drip-feeding in a run of singles in recent months. Across the project, he largely explores new sounds for the first time and takes artistic risks to align with the themes. The project represents an important chapter in Manga’s life, as he embarks on the journey of fatherhood. As he steadies himself for a busy period, Manga is set on the project’s release, the upcoming tour, and his MOBO nomination.
