Kitty Liv - The Sun and The Rain (Official Video)

The Sun and The Rain” is the new single released on Sunday Best Recordings from Kitty Liv, better known as one third of the successful and acclaimed family band, Kitty, Daisy and Lewis. The release is the follow-up track after previous single “Sweet Dreams” received significant support including airplay from Jamie Cullum (BBC Radio 2) and Craig Charles (BBC 6Music). The tracks are released on a double A-side 7” following an extensive period of touring with Guy Chambers, Beans on Toast and Joe Webb, which included a live session for Cerys Matthews on BBC Radio 2.

“The Sun and The Rain” showcases a more up-tempo side to Kitty Liv, with an urgent and infectious groove. Its celebratory sound belies its inspiration about an unhappy relationship and the desperation to be loved. On this single, alongside “Sweet Dreams”, Kitty seamlessly blends nostalgia of the past with a modern, fresh approach; acting as the perfect introduction to Kitty’s solo work and her new partnership with Sunday Best. Co-produced with her brother and analogue guru Lewis Durham, “The Sun and The Rain” was recorded live on sparkling analogue equipment at KDL’s analogue studio at Kentish Town, North London.

Kitty Liv has fired up music lovers around the globe from a very early age, co-fronting family band Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, selling over a quarter of a million records and garnering the support of famous fans including Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson and Coldplay. Her solo music marks a shift in career and sound for her as she finds strength in her sound, production, and song writing. With influences ranging from Erykah Badu and D’Angelo to Al Green and Howlin’ Wolf, she has worked to produce a body of personal songs that evoke the primal depths of classic soul, Gospel blues and old school rock and roll.
