Speaking on the track, TNC say’s: ‘A lot of my favourite artists have the odd track or feature verse where they step out of their

usual lyrical and sonic bubble and just talk their shit. Simz’ Gorilla, Loyle’s Verses on Taxin’ and Hocus Pocus spring to mind immediately. I enjoy the depth and emotional value of their classic work, but hearing an artist full of confidence, flowing effortlessly over incredible production gets me too hyped, and I felt a need to project my own feelings and ability through this song.

The lyrics came naturally as I found my voice over the last 18 months, but I wanted to wait for the right time to release it and find the right feature to join me. In Jordan, I think I found exactly that. There had been a mutual respect of each others work for some time, but we didn’t want to get in the studio for sake of it, there had to be depth to the collaboration.

The time came as he finished his debut album campaign, so I felt like he’d have a lot to say off the back of that. He certainly delivered.

Goal Hangers is an expression of our confidence in our craft and ability. I worked very closely with Andrew on the beat, and I believe it’s my best work yet.’
