Naya Yeira - Peace of Mind (Official Video)

London-based, Jakarta-born artist Naya Yeira releases today her soulful debut single, ‘Peace of Mind’ via Random Records. This smooth, introspective track serves as a heartfelt post-breakup ode to self-love, blending R&B, pop, and hip-hop influences into an ethereal soundscape. With lyrics steeped in honesty, Naya reflects on the remnants of relationships and the souvenirs we carry with us or choose to leave behind.

Peace of Mind is a song about putting yourself first and letting go of things in your life that don’t serve you anymore. When I wrote this song, it completely helped me to let go and never think of it again, and I hope that it can do the same for whoever is listening to it,” Naya shares.

The track, produced by Superbeats and co-written with Naya Yeira and Té Eugene (Qhairo), showcases her soulful vocals and distinct style, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in her musical journey.

The accompanying video is a retro homage that nods to the 90s, blending cool interfaces into a collage with Naya's performance. ‘I wanted to capture Y2K cybercore vibes with everything happening inside a glitchy Nokia 3310. It was like being forced to watch weird spam memes and my videos. I worked closely with the director on the animation to bring this vision to life,’ Naya explains.

At just 23 years old, Naya Yeira’s artistry is rooted in her rich cultural background. Raised in Jakarta on a blend of traditional Indonesian music alongside Western R&B and rock, she developed her skills as a vocalist and pianist from a young age. With her bags packed to study computing in Toronto, Naya made the bold choice to pursue her passion for music instead, and the first song she wrote earned her a place at the prestigious BIMM music institute in London.

During the pandemic, Naya was forced into a hiatus and returned to Jakarta. There, she did a series of self-releases that quickly gained attention from national broadcasters and a growing audience. However, after returning to London, she encountered challenges with the UK immigration system, which much to her frustration, prevented her from releasing music until they were resolved.

Following a summer of performing across continents, Naya has been captivating audiences at intimate venues and open mics across London, including a recent support slot for Jem Wax at Camden Chapel. With more live shows on the horizon, her performances continue to draw attention as ones to watch.

As she prepares to release ‘Peace of Mind,’ Naya Yeira is poised to make her mark as a distinctive voice at the intersection of the UK and global music scenes. With a genre-defying sound, she’s ready to redefine what it means to be an artist in uncharted territory.
