MANSO̶U̶R̶ - not disturb (EP)
Paris-born DJ, producer and creative MANSO̶U̶R̶ delivers sleek silhouettes across his new EP not disturb ft. Sam Wise, Kadiata, El Londo and Rxlls.
With rich, nocturnal soundwaves laying groundwork for some of the most promising lyricists in the UK, not disturb is the mantra that encapsulates the assertive theme of the project; an intimate journey from Paris to London, with late nights and ethereal connections becoming a driving force to seek solace in our creative paths. Building universal sounds laced with style and psychedelia, MANSO̶U̶R̶ is solidifying his presence at the forefront of alt-rap’s new wave, and he’s having fun with it.
Manoeuvring through the infectious opener “LOUSY BOYFRIEND” ft. Kensington pioneer Sam Wise, reflections of a complex relationship quickly transcend into inner-city ambition and influence across “MEDIUM RARE” (watch) ft. El Londo & Rxlls, bursting with frantic percussion and heavyweight basslines to create pockets for Rxll’s blunt yet conscious commentary on modern-day youth culture.
Standout cut “BDE” sees Kadiata on serious form, emerging with hazy, midnight textures that playfully flirt with the South Londoner’s rare lyrical focus he’s known to flex; the kind of artistic confidence and integrity that blossoms within MANSO̶U̶R̶’s musical universe.
Holding inspired spoken word across the transformative interlude “LEMON GINGER SKIT” (watch), the EP draws to a close with “EARLYMORNINGS!” (watch) – a dystopian environment for Sam Wise to balance intoxicating influences and the endless exploration of our creative affirmations. Backed by an electric set of visuals journeying through Paris, MANSO̶U̶R̶’s aggressive DIY mentality not only musically but visually marks him as one of the most exciting and naturally creative new names crashing into UK conciseness.
Speaking on the EP, MANSO̶U̶R̶ states: “It’s all about protecting your personal bubble. This bubble is like a special, intimate inner space, where you can reconnect with yourself, away from distractions and peer pressure. No matter what your bubble is, cherish it daily, nurture it with care. We often get lost in pointless worries, caught up in superficial thoughts. Take a deep breath, step back from the small stuff, and take a look at the bigger picture. Do as you want and as you like.” He adds: “’not disturb’ is tied to emotional intelligence, recognizing and handling our emotions in a mindful way. People are scared of emotions but it’s okay, you can't escape who you are. It’s about knowing when and how to step back from the noise to protect your own peace. It’s way cooler to stay self-aware — there’s plenty of good stuff to miss out on.”
