Hope Tala - Survival (Single)
Rising songstress Hope Tala returns with a captivating new single, ‘Survival’, the latest track from her highly anticipated debut album, ‘Hope Handwritten’ which is slated for release on the 28th February 2025 via PMR Records.
Alongside the release is the long-awaited launch of pre-orders for physical formats of Hope Handwritten. The album is available to pre-order on CD and special double eco black vinyl now from retailers worldwide, plus Hope’s webshop. There are also a number of very limited prints signed by Hope available from select stores.
This new single marks the 6th track released from the album so far, following a series of critically acclaimed singles over the past 6 months that have redefined and elevated her stunning signature sound.
Speaking on the story before ‘Survival’, Hope shares; “Most of the songs I write are driven by narrative, a story; anchored by a statement of some kind. When I sat down to write ‘Survival’, after having more than a few intimate moments with despair, I wanted to say something definitive about resilience. But while sitting with myself and the concept I found that I couldn’t do that with any real authority. I kept thinking about my own privilege and about how much worse my circumstances could be. I realised eventually that the song couldn’t be linear and that it had to be anchored by a question; ‘what do I know of survival?’’
As she approaches her debut album, Hope Tala has proven 2024 to be a transformative year, crafting a narrative that has captured new and old listeners alike. Each of her recent singles: ‘I Can’t Even Cry’, ‘Bad Love God’, ‘Thank Goodness’, ‘Shiver’, and most recently ‘Jumping the Gun’ serve as a new chapter in this journey, combining poetic lyricism, bold instrumentation, and smooth vocals to create a cohesive and immersive listening experience.
