Berlin-based producer and musician ODYLE releases debut album, 18 Months Of(f). Accompanied by a profound and moving music video for recent single Better Days with singer fraen, produced by Berlin-based creative collective ART OF UNITY.

A familiar presence in Berlin’s music scene, ODYLE has made his mark as a producer, songwriter, and musical director under his moniker beatmensch5000, collaborating with artists such as Cro, Disarstar, Megaloh, TAM and AzudemSK.

ODYLE’s 18 Months Of(f) was crafted during the challenging years of 2022-2023, a period marked by significant personal obstacles. "It was born out of a difficult time battling Long COVID (ME/CFS), when making music was both a struggle and a source of resilience for me,” ODYLE shares. Despite enduring persistent fatigue, ODYLE continued to create music, albeit with great difficulty. The experience demanded perseverance and patience, which ultimately shaped the album's thematic superstructure and creative journey. The ambivalence of time—both its slow, arduous passage during recovery and its relentless, fleeting nature—became a central theme in the music.

The two standout tracks on the EP also serve as lyrical expressions of the hope for healing. Time Moves Slow, a collaboration with R&B artist DALEE (A Song For You), emphasizes the importance of gradual, enduring growth. Meanwhile, Better Days, featuring singer fraen, offers a comforting embrace and the promise of a brighter, more resilient future after a period of struggle. The EP also showcases the talents of award-winning jazz saxophonist Phillip Dornbusch and bassist Viktor Velinov, both key figures in Berlin's flourishing jazz and new soul scene.
