Harvey Whyte unveils sophomore album ‘Fatalism’ – A bold follow-up to ‘Piano Rap’.

Hackney’s own Harvey Whyte delivers an introspective, genre-defying exploration of fate, mental health, and self discovery with his highly anticipated new album, "Fatalism."

Following the success of his debut album Piano Rap, Harvey Whyte is back with his sophomore release, Fatalism. The new album sees the Hackney-born artist pushing the boundaries of his craft, blending his skills as a self-taught pianist and producer with insightful lyricism and evocative storytelling.

On Fatalism, Harvey continues to break conventions, crafting a soundscape that spans genres from hip hop, trap, neo-soul, alternative R&B, and electronic. Each track is a reflection of his personal journey, exploring deep themes of destiny, mental health, and self-discovery.

"The whole album is about destiny and how inescapable it is, and that we are all victims of Fatalism," Harvey explains. "I wrote it based on experiences I was going through at the time and a relationship I was in. On our last night together, we drew tarot cards. All the artwork is based on the cards that we drew, and represents the idea of Fatalism."

The album’s opening track, "Can U Tell," is dedicated to everyone who suffers with mental health issues. Harvey explains “The song is about paranoia and the feeling that no matter where you look the devil is in everything. For me angels and devils are inside everyone. I like to use the devil’s imagery to represent the negative sides of what I experience through mental health. I believe in positivity and love but also that we should all face our own demons without fear otherwise they can use that fear to control us”.

Harvey Whyte sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:

Piano Rap. Or like Kurt Cobain rapping on the piano but from Hackney.

Probably just going viral for my song and getting recognized everywhere. Also putting my first album on vinyl. And trademarking that sound was very important to me, I get messages all the time now about piano rap and how unique my sound is and I'm just proud of it tbh.
