EVALINA - Rough Patch (Single)

Despite still being in the infancy of her career, BRIT School alumni EVALINA has already achieved more than most 23-year-old musicians would ever dream possible. Since her debut release in June 2022, she’s amassed over 33 million streams across her credits, performed at prestigious festivals such as The Great Escape Amsterdam Dance Event, and has had every single one of her releases named as BBC Introducing South’s Record Of The Day. But in EVALINA’s own words, she’s “only just scratched the surface”.

Following on from the successful soft launches of her singles ‘Side Effects’ & ‘Vivid’, ‘Rough Patch’ is the lead single from EVALINA’s upcoming debut EP. "Inspired by the film ‘She’s The Man’, it’s written from the perspective of Sebastian’s delusional ex-girlfriend Monique, who refuses to accept that her relationship is over & convinces herself that they’re only going through a rough patch. Of course, all her friends know she’s in denial & try to comfort her with Ben & Jerry’s, but instead she puts a coin in the jar to symbolise the never-ending cycle of breaking up & getting back together".

The track is co-written & produced by Hannah Koppenburg (Eurythmics) & Maxwell Cooke (Ellie Goulding) & continues the playful tongue & cheek lyrical style that EVALINA has come to be known for in her songs ‘I Already Told My Mama What You Did’ & ‘I Threw A Party (Excuses)’ & effortlessly demonstrates why her phenomenal vocals are consistently compared to world class singers such as Tori Kelly & JoJo.

Her latest release, a collaboration with SILK called ‘Last Time’, marked her major label debut, coming out on EMI Records in late 2023 to critical acclaim. It received overwhelming support from DSP’s, with adds to numerous New Music Friday’s & respected tastemaker playlists all over the world & was named as Soundcloud’s global Track Of The Day.

Her previous successes include support from BBC Radio 1Capital FM & Kiss FM, glowing press spots from ClashWonderlandCeleb MixEarmilkCloutIGGYLoud Women & a recent live lounge set for BBC introducing.
