Manchester singer-songwriter Pip Millett releases her latest EP, Tell Jimmy via Believe. Across these five new tracks, in her distinctively soulful voice you can hear hurt but there’s also this commanding sass and fiery attitude we’ve not seen from her before, making it an exciting return.

She dropped “Fight you” yesterday, her anti-Valentine’s Day anthem for those who have been wronged by their lovers with an accompanying video directed by longtime collaborator KC Locke.

Pip returned with the first taste of new music since the release of her debut album When Everything Is Better, I’ll Let You Know last month with ‘Eating out’ featuring the Grammy Award winning Rae Khalil which was a stand-out introduction to this latest body of work.

This newfound independence comes with a fresh sound from the formidable artist, further cementing the notion that R&B is not dead. With Tell Jimmy, Pip delves deeper into the genre whilst still maintaining inflections of soul she is known and loved for. Whilst working through infidelity and a break up she travelled to the states, taking matters into her own hands to connect with producers and artists she admires to produce some of her best work to date. Taking inspiration from modern classics such as SZA’s SOS and Jazmine Sullivan’s Heaux Tales, Pip has created something that will resonate with audiences on either side of the Atlantic.

Refining the art of less is more, Pip Millett has gracefully manoeuvred her way through the UK music scene with quiet confidence. She first made waves with her single “Make Me Cry” in 2018, going on to perform it for COLORS where the session has now racked up over 6 million views. From then she has solidly released music, including EPs Do Well, Lost In June and Motion Sick where she built a cult following of fans, including Jorja Smith with her evocative fusion of R&B and soul, going on to sell-out venues like Shepherd’s Bush Empire. In 2023 the time had come to put out her highly anticipated debut When Everything Is Better, I’ll Let You Know and amongst releasing her first LP, last year saw the Manchester native support Ari Lennox on her european tour, take on Australia for a run of headline debut shows and festival slots at Love Supreme, Montreux Jazz Festival, Wilderness and many more.

With Pip’s calm nature comes with a kind of assuredness only an artist in full control of their creative output can attain, she jumps into the limelight again with a refreshing sense of autonomy and this collection of tender yet fierce new songs truly mark an exciting new chapter for the seasoned artist who is on a roll and already well on their way to delivering more new music.
