Kitty Liv - Keep Your Head Up High (Official Video)
“Keep Your Head Up High” is the new single from Kitty Liv, better known as one third of the successful and acclaimed family band, Kitty, Daisy and Lewis. The release comes alongside the announcement of Kitty’s debut album ‘Easy Tiger’ – Out Friday 26th July via Sunday Best Recordings. Kitty is currently on tour in Germany (dates below), and will be headlining The Lexington, London on Friday 22nd March.
A song of pure intent, “Keep Your Head Up High” has repeatedly proven to be a jaw-dropping moment in Kitty Liv’s live sets. The song was originally written as a mantra to herself; a reminder that there’s always a way forward, no matter what struggles you’re facing. This message has been woven into the fierce, harmonica-focussed groove of the track which sees the young singer songwriter utilise the mouth organ as a powerful extension of her voice. The resulting sound is pushes the boundaries of contemporary pop, with a nod to the otherworldly roots of blues.
Co-produced with her brother and analogue guru Lewis Durham, ‘Easy Tiger’ was recorded live on sparkling analogue equipment at KDL’s analogue studio at Kentish Town, North London. On her debut LP, Kitty Liv seamlessly blends nostalgia of the past with a modern, fresh approach; acting as the perfect introduction to Kitty’s solo work and her new partnership with Sunday Best. The LP will feature previous singles “Sweet Dreams” and “The Sun and The Rain” which received significant support including airplay from Jamie Cullum (BBC Radio 2) and Craig Charles (BBC 6Music).
