Birmingham-based artist, producer and trombonist Blackneeyz has worked with a diverse array of talents including Zachary Hines, House of Eli, Isaac B, Ohno Da French, Alex on the Mic, and producer Temple. His notable presence extends to performing at the Grammys alongside the likes of 21 Savage, Brandy, and Burna Boy. He’s currently lending his trombone skills to Burna Boy, captivating audiences across the US on the Nigerian superstars ongoing tour.

Today, he links up with another artist and producer who has left his mark on the UK music scene in the past decade, Shai Sevin. Their collaboration, “Reach” carries a vibe reminiscent of the late 90s and early 00s, offering a smooth and nostalgic listening experience. Through relatable lyrics about resilience dreams, both artists connect with listeners on a personal level, creating an emotional resonance. “Reach” is an impactful track that bridges the past and present, making it a compelling listen for those who appreciate soulful sounds with a touch of contemporary flair.

Hailing from the West Midlands, Blackneeyz had a greater appetite for his future than its city limits would allow. From birth to the age of 8, he was partially deaf but still very much into music. After an operation which restored his ability to hear, his love affair with music really took off— and he’s never looked back since.

Moving to London to enrol at the Royal Academy of Music, he had laid the foundations of his reputation as a multi-hyphenate, which, over the course of his ten years there, he had the chance to grow to full fruition. London was a place of reinvention. Cutting his teeth playing the trombone as a session musician, working behind the scenes allowed Blackneeyz to embed himself in the music industry and forge invaluable alliances with the key players around him. His experience led him to work with Jazz musicians such as Jay Phelps, an accomplished trumpet player who is currently hosting Worldwide FM’s Ear To The Ground show, Cleo Sol, Stormzy, Anne Marie, Rudimentaland more.

Blackneeyz draws inspiration from the cinematic signatures of Hans Zimmer which is a testament to the fact this upcoming EP is a striking melting pot of influences.
