Ibrahim Maalouf - Fly With Me (Single)
Ibrahim Maalouf will unveil “FLY WITH ME”, the inaugural track from his forthcoming new album TRUMPETS OF MICHEL-ANGE.
A true ode to life, “FLY WITH ME” celebrates both union and love. Set against a backdrop of rhythms blending oriental, jazz, and Latin American music, Ibrahim Maalouf once again immerses us in his colourful universe with a joyful and festive melody to be enjoyed with the return of spring.
The album TRUMPETS OF MICHEL-ANGE, scheduled to release by fall this year, will be unveiled on April 17th, 2024, at the Grand Rex in Paris.
The sold-out event will celebrate the launch of the trumpeter's 16th studio album, already twice nominated for Grammy Awards in 2023 and 2022. The evening will not only showcase the new album but also the new trumpet brand T.O.M.A (Trumpets of Michel-Ange), launched in 2023 by Ibrahim.
This special concert will be followed by a world tour starting May 2024.
With TRUMPETS OF MICHEL-ANGE, Ibrahim Maalouf lays the foundation for an ambitious life project combining album, stage, lutherie, and pedagogy, with the primary goal of bringing us together around a common value: transmission.
Ibrahim Maalouf’s forthcoming new album continues a prolific streak. In 2022 he released Queen of Sheba, a collaborative album with Angelique Kidjo. SPIN Magazine said it “may be the most interesting album of the year” and earned Maalouf his first-ever GRAMMY nomination (Best Global Album). A soaring 7-part suite, it was inspired by the myth of Queen Sheba, an African Queen who heard about the reputation of King Salomon and travelled to Jerusalem to witness the king’s wisdom. That was quickly followed by Capacity To Love - a star-studded album featuring De La Soul, Tank and the Bangas, Sharon Stone, Gregory Porter, Cimafunk, D Smoke and many others. “Todo Colores” would go on to earn a GRAMMY nomination for Best Global Performance. Both projects speak to one of Maalouf’s musical missions: illustrating through his music building community that the sharing of ideas between cultures is the only way for humanity to prevail.
Maalouf has been busy as a performer as well. Late last year he headlined and sold out the biggest arena in France - the 17,000 capacity Accor Arena - for the third time. He more recently also performed alongside A$AP Rocky and J Balvin at a major charity event in France, and last July shared the stage with a host of stars as part of Quincy Jones’ 90th birthday celebrations at the Hollywood Bowl.
Hailed as a “virtuoso” by The New York Times, Maalouf has spent his career crossing borders and blurring genres, mixing jazz, pop, classical, electronic, Middle Eastern, and African influences into a cross-cultural swirl. Born in the midst of a deadly civil war, Maalouf escaped Beirut with his family and spent his formative years in France, where he fell in love with music’s power to transcend geography and language. He has performed in 40 countries, sold out arenas from Paris to Istanbul, has been scouted by Quincy Jones and raised millions of dollars for charity. In the fall of 2021 he performed on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, introduced by Jon Batiste as “a living legend of jazz,” and performed in front of the Eiffel Tower on Bastille Day for an audience of six million.
