Tone Central: A fresh take on jazz rap and the making of a collaborative studio album

Tone Central, a London-based producer, DJ, and A&R, announces the release of his new track "Pain In My Chest," OUT NOW!

"Pain In My Chest" features established saxophonist/producer BNMO, rising rappers kei the artist & Bastet and soulful singers Dabie Simul & Zealous G. The song delves into the themes of pain, loss of control, and the desire for change, expressed through conscious rap, hip-hop, and neo-soul. The track is part of a large collaborative studio album with 68 writers, initially recorded over 11 weeks in Leeds, UK. Expect 6 music videos and a vinyl release.

Started in Leeds and currently based in London, Tone Central explores the sounds of alternative Hip Hop and Jazz Rap through meaningful collaborations. His music—chill and introspective—resonates with fans of Children of Zeus, Loyle Carner, Nix Northwest, The Silhouettes Project, Venna, and Swindle.

Talking about his latest track, Tone Central said: “It was one of the first tracks we made on the album. It came about as a result of forming an entire band in a studio along with two rappers and a singer. The session took about 6 hours but right at the end we got the take! Sax and overdubs came later. It was probably one of the hardest tracks to mix too.”
