Mackenzy Mackay - Bruised One (Single)

Continuing to pluck on our heart strings with his captivating lyricism and infectious melodies, global sensation Mackenzy Mackay has shared his latest single, “Bruised One”, that’s set to feature on his forthcoming EP.  Following on from the March release, “Cold Stare”, the London based singer-songwriter is maintaining momentum with a string of compelling releases that lean into his authentic pop-rap fusion.

Stuck between overthinking scenarios and wanting to give someone his all, Mackenzy Mackay ponders his compassionate side with intimate relationships, admitting, “I’ll give you all my heart, if I’m honest, it’s a bruised one” he raps. Navigating new love interests whilst dealing with previous wounds, “Bruised One” is a candid yet honest single that emphasizes Mackenzy Mackay’s authenticity and fearless approach to vulnerability. Layered over an acoustic production that boasts percussive elements, his memorable melodies and unrivaled lyricism create a pop victory.

When asked about the meaning behind the single, Mackenzy Mackay explained, “Bruised one is a song about having a big heart and having a lot of love to give. Touching on the subject of being an overthinker and over analysing things sometimes that are just not that deep. Loving and thinking a lot, perhaps too much for your own good. Painting or making up scenarios that don’t exist..”
