edbl ft: Superlative - All Me (Single)

Collaborative force and skilled beatmaker edbl (Ed Black) continues his journey to push the boundaries of genre, sonic sensibility and collaboration on his new single All Me’ featuring Superlative out now.

Building around a sublime piano sample, edbl pieces together a dubby masterpiece on ‘All Me’, adding jazzy synth flourishes and vibey guitars. Superlative’s raw, self-reflective flow, and melodic chorus seal the deal on this artful bounce of a jam.

Aligned with this release, edbl also announces news of his upcoming full-length album entitled ‘2010 Mixtape’, a project firmly rooted in hip-hop rhythmic aesthetics, boasting an impressive list of featured artists and collabs from the flourishing UK R&B, soul and rap scenes.

edbl continues his fine year, having recently sold-out headline shows at London’s iconic Jazz Café, two nights at the legendary Blue Note Tokyo, and Brixton’s late-night venue Hootananny, which marked a career record of 4 sold out shows in four months.

Off the back of a fast-paced start to 2024 which included a career-defining Tokyo trip playing multiple sold-out shows and fan activations, ‘All Me’ continues a new journey for edbl, with a series of exciting announcements and new music to follow.

Previous single 'Never Stops', a collaboration with LA based jazz keys virtuoso Kiefer, UK Hip-Hop MC Turt (of Summers Sons) and fast-rising UK Soul polymath Quinn Oulton, has picked up support including Spotify's NMF, Just Dropped and Monday Spin playlists plus plays from BBC Introducing London and editorial support from Somewhere Soul, Viper and Noctis. That following a blistering Joe Hertz UKG remix of edbl’s breakthrough track ‘The Way Things Were’, in celebration of the track passing its 10 million stream milestone on Spotify.

Speaking on ‘All Me’, edbl commented: “‘All Me’ started with a sample from one of my favourite producers Fred Cox and his buddy Hutch, I made the beat as soon as I heard it and have been sat on it a little while.

“When it came to pulling together beats for this project I knew I wanted this one on it. Sometimes a beat and a rapper were made for each other, and I believe that is the case with this beat + Superlative. When I heard his bars it blew my mind - I was so gassed straight away, added a couple layers and a cheeky guitar solo and the song was done. It came together super quickly and organically!”

Superlative added: “All Me’ is me stepping into my self-respect era. Realising that not all help given is reciprocated and always being accessible allows people to take advantage of your willingness to help. This song is an affirmation in the form of self-worth and a goodbye to the former person I once allowed people to see me as.”
