Hip Hop super producer Umair releases the new video for ‘Day Dreamer’ from debut album ‘ROCKSTAR WITHOUT A GUITAR’.

The Karachi born, 20 year old super producer reunites with Young Stunners rapper Talha Anjum for the track, leading the exploding Pakistani hip hop scene that is breaking out of the country.

Umair's highly-anticipated album, boasts an impressive line-up of 20 tracks, with 25 artists including the likes of Young Stunners, KR$NA, Hasan Raheem, and Abdul Hannan. The album solidifies Umair’s status as a bona fide musical trailblazer, showcasing unwavering dedication to his craft. Umair’s album presents a distinctive soundscape, showcasing a collaborative effort among artists from diverse genres.

A viral success on the subcontinent, the album has collected millions of streams since release and 8 tracks from the album are now in the Spotify India Viral Charts, 15 are in the Spotify Pakistan Viral Charts.

Significantly, Umair has gained nearly half a million Spotify listeners from overseas since album release. Currently, 20% of Umair’s super fans hail from Western countries, including the USA, Canada and the UK - and this fandom is steadily expanding.

Born in Karachi, Pakistan, the prodigious producer began crafting beats at the tender age of 13 from the comfort of his bedroom. Influenced by a diverse range of artists including Mike Dean, WondaGurl, Metro Boomin and Travis Scott, Umair’s unique sound quickly began to take shape.

While initially experimenting with house music, Umair’s breakthrough came with his debut Hip Hop single ‘Asli Hai’ alongside Young Stunners in 2019. The track skyrocketed to the top of the YouTube Charts, firmly establishing Umair as an emerging Pakistani talent.

Umair’s ambition knows no bounds, as evidenced by his cross-border collaborations with the likes of Indian artists Raftaar, KR$NA and DIVINE - which have not only broadened his fan base but have also solidified his signature sound on the global stage.

This release signifies another landmark in the dynamic and swiftly progressing South Asian music scene. With 44 million people forming the South Asian diaspora globally, including 4 million in the UK alone, the global consumption of South Asian music had a phenomenal growth in 2023. Recent collaborations have highlighted the continued crossover of South Asian music to the rest of the world - Indo-Canadian artist AP Dhillon x Stormzy, Indian pop artist Diljit Dosanjh x Saweetie. While US festival Coachella dedicates a stage for a South Asian Artist every year with breakthrough triumphs at the festival from the likes of Ali Sethi and Diljit Dosanjh (2023) who performed the first all-Punjabi set at a major festival, followed by Sid Sriram and AP Dhillon (2024). The legendary Glastonbury Festival in the UK has unveiled its first dedicated South Asian stage this year too, entitled ‘Arrivals’.

With this cultural evolution the stage is set for Umair's music to resonate widely and captivate audiences across borders.
