Lusaint - Sober (Official Video)

Following a string of hit singles set to feature on her debut EP coming this summer, Manchester-based singer-songwriter Lusaint returns with stunning new track ‘Sober’, out now on Heavenly Fire.

‘Sober’ is a bright arrangement featuring a perky horn section and a walking bassline, but it’s Lusaint’s mesmerising vocals that steal the show, full of playful melody and deep emotion. “You treat me like I’m sober but I still want you” she sings on a memorable chorus, at turns both vulnerable and fierce. “‘Sober’ is about a toxic relationship”, Lusaint says. “Realising it’s no longer good for you but doing everything you can to try and make it work".

A new stripped-back music video for ‘Sober’ also dropped on release day, featuring Lusaint and her band performing candidly in a rustic setting.

The track follows ‘Sweet Tooth’, which has already reached over 1 million streams with support all across Europe since its February release, as well as 10 spins on BBC Radio 1 from Clara Amfo, Jack Saunders, Future Pop and Dean & Vicky. Lusaint also recently performed Sweet Tooth in her first ever TV appearance, on French TV show Taratata. The track subsequently entered multiple charts in France including; #8 in the Shazam Discovery Chart, #46 in the Shazam Pop Chart and Spotify Viral chart along with being added across a multitude of French radio stations too.

Lusaint’s forthcoming debut EP Self Sabotage is set for release September 27th 2024 and will be accompanied by previous releases including ‘Dream Life’, ‘Fool For You’, and the powerful debut single ‘Dark Horse’ all produced by Blue May, who has worked with Joy Crookes, Jorja Smith, Lily Allen and Kano.

Lusaint also recently announced her debut French tour which begins on May 27th including a SOLD OUT show at L'Archipel in Paris , as well as three further shows at Palais Des Festivals in Cannes on July 15th, Festival Chauufer Dans La Noireceur on July 13th and Theatre Antique D'Orange on August 3rd. Meanwhile in the UK, the songstress is preparing to play a headline show at Paper Dress Vintage in London on 1st May to celebrate the launch of ‘Sober’, and is set to appear at The Great Escape in Brighton on May 17th (Orchard Stage) and Cosmic Gape Festival in Chester in July.

With over 60 million streams globally, Manchester-based singer-songwriter Lusaint's distinctive music has captured hearts since her 2019 breakthrough with its melodic blend of soul, jazz and blues influences.

The songstress has come a long way since her breakthrough in 2019, a year in which she broke the daily record for most Shazams in 24 hours. Since then her success has led to collaborations with glamorous brands including Chanel, Dior, Alighieri Jewellery; and a London Fashion Week appearance. Building even more anticipation for her upcoming debut EP self sabotage, ‘Sober’ is another sparkling example of the show-stopping vocals and spotlight-stealing songcraft of Lusaint.
