“Nothing On My Mind (But You Babe)” is the new single from Kitty Liv, better known as one third of the successful and acclaimed family band, Kitty, Daisy and Lewis. The track is the final single taken from Kitty’s eagerly anticipated debut album ‘Easy Tiger’ – Out Friday 26th July via Sunday Best Recordings. Kitty will be celebrating the release of her album at Rough Trade East, London with a full band performance on Wednesday 31st July.
“Nothing On My Mind (But You Babe)” is a straight up love song about being head over heels for someone, whilst simultaneously being cursed with the thought of them leaving. Originally written on the piano while Kitty was listening to a lot of funky Hip Hop, the track takes this groove with additional fat drums and choppy guitar to reveal a joyful up-tempo showcase of Kitty’s songwriting and musicianship.
Co-produced with her brother and analogue guru Lewis Durham, ‘Easy Tiger’ was recorded live on sparkling analogue equipment at KDL’s analogue studio at Kentish Town, North London. On her debut LP, Kitty Liv seamlessly blends nostalgia of the past with a modern, fresh approach; acting as the perfect introduction to Kitty’s solo work and her new partnership with Sunday Best. The LP features previous singles “Sweet Dreams”, “The Sun and The Rain” and “Keep Your Head Up High” which received significant support including airplay from Jamie Cullum (BBC Radio 2), Cerys Matthews (BBC 6Music) and Craig Charles (BBC 6Music) and coverage from Rolling Stone.
