Tom Misch - Cinnamon Curls (Single)

Acclaimed British musician and producer Tom Misch shares the second in a series of singles coming out this summer, "Cinnamon Curls”. Following the release of "Insecure," last month, Misch continues to captivate audiences with his signature blend of soulful melodies and classic production.
"Cinnamon Curls" is a testament to Misch's collaborative spirit, co-written with Grammy-winning songwriter Jimmy Napes, multi-instrumentalist and producer Nate Mercereau (who recently worked on André 3000’s acclaimed instrumental album), and longtime collaborator and singer-songwriter Carmody. The track was masterfully mixed by the renowned Neal H Pogue, whose expertise has shaped the sound of numerous hits across genres. Written and recorded before 2020’s “What Kinda Music” at the same time as “Insecure”, but where that track was stripped back raw, “Cinnamon Curls” is sonically wildly different; radiant, like a Californian sunrise, underpinned by warm woozy guitar synths.
“I made Cinnamon Curls back in 2018 in one of my first sessions in LA with a producer called Nate Mercereau. We got the original idea down in the session and then I took it into another session with Jimmy Napes to work on the lyrics. Tom Misch has been a significant force in contemporary music, seamlessly merging elements of jazz, R&B, and hip-hop. He has peppered the last few years with various musical explorations including his collaborative album with drummer and jazz innovator Yussef Dayes, and electronic experimentation with the club aligned alter ego Supershy, which showcased his versatility and willingness to push artistic boundaries. His acclaimed 2018 album “Geography” was his last full LP release.
With sold out shows across the globe, streaming figures in excess of 1.5 billion, collaborations with the likes of De La Soul, Loyle Carner, Michael Kiwanuka and Marcos Valle, and support from Eric Clapton, John Mayer and Elton John, Misch has quietly but rapidly become one of the most celebrated artists of the last decade and influenced a generation of musicians and producers. "Cinnamon Curls" represents the second in a series of standalone singles set to be released over the coming months, as Misch meticulously crafts his highly anticipated new solo album.
