Glowe - Little Bird (EP)
Well-known for her anthemic sound, pop riser Glowe strips it back to her roots in her latest irresistible single, “Little Bird”. Following on from the May release “Hover”, an up-beat and hypnotic single that caught national praise with multiple plays on BBC Radio 1 Mollie King’s ‘Future Pop’ show; the self proclaimed party princess homes in on the beauty of love, drawing inspiration from the classic film, ‘The Notebook’.
Pairing up with good-friend and producer Havelock for production, “Little Bird” is centred around you and a love interest embracing each other to the fullest. Love at its most beautiful is often associated with letting go and allowing each other to be vulnerable in a safe environment. Inspired by a particular scene in ‘The Notebook’, Glowe glides effortlessly with her signature soft vocals across the production. Posing as another stand-out release, Glowe continues to push a relatable narrative through unrivalled lyricism.
Speaking on the meaning behind the release, Glowe explained, “Little Bird is a song about love. It was written after I watched the film ‘The Notebook’ for the first time. I loved the scene when they’re dancing on the beach and he says ‘if you’re a bird then I’m a bird’. I thought that was so sweet! Allowing yourself to be vulnerable with someone is hard at times but can be so beautiful when you get it right. This song is all about total adoration. Feeling so happy when you’re together that you could take off like a bird.
I wrote ‘Little Bird’ with my lovely friend and producer Havelock. It feels more similar in style to my first releases. I’m going back to my roots with a more Neo soul, stripped back approach. This one’s for the fans of the OG singles Realise, Stronger by the Day and Don’t Let Me Down.
In the cover art for Little Bird, I was dressed as Juliet from Baz Lurhmann’s adaptation of the classic love story Romeo and Juliet. Another of my all time favourite films. I think it’s safe to say, I definitely love to romanticise my life.
