Inspired by the summer's lofty soft air and warm breezy hugs, this song embraces escapism after long dark winter episodes. Odario says that “Sunset Flicks is about rollin' through town with a loved one and getting reacquainted with your city. This song plays out as an appreciation song to that very person (your Cocoa Love Bug) that supported you through the darkest hours. Sunset Flicks is also a tribute to that golden magic hour. Those short few minutes when the sun sits low and perfect. Many of us agree that very moment in time, the magic hour, is the best time to capture a memory and snap a few sunset flicks”.

Odario is a hip-hop artist, music curator, all round storyteller and lover of many musical soundscapes. He is embedded in the beat and submerged in the bass. His solo project expresses all these qualities; tackling the many sides of "beat poetry". He is a Guyanese born artist who resides in Toronto. His charismatic stage presence, distinctive vocal tone and poetic lyrics have guided his hip-hop band, Grand Analog, since their debut album Calligraffiti in 2007. Odario is a self-described Cocoa Love Bug whose signature sound explores all genres and flavours. In Sunset Flicks, Odario's love of 90s hip-hop, gospel-tinged soul and bluesy rock ballads all seem to blend together seamlessly. Throughout his career, Odario has collaborated with many artists including Posdnuos of De La Soul, Mad Professor, Antibalas, Shad, Delhi 2 Dublin, Cadence Weapon, Halluci Nation, Haviah Mighty and Saukrates. Odario is also a wearer of many creative hats. Aside from being a rapper, he has worked as an actor and broadcaster. He is currently the host of CBC Music's popular nightly program Afterdark. Musically, Odario defines his own lush groove, an alternative dance and experimental hip-hop sound worthy of his loyal late-night listeners.
