Jack Howard - Falling (Single)

Starting the year strong with ‘Circles’, 2024 has already seen Jack Howard supported by BBC Radio 1. Follow-up ‘Another Day’ was next to receive industry attention, with 1883, Wordplay Magazine and Earmilk all picking up the track.

As we edge closer to the July release of his debut EP All Things That Came Before, Jack has unveiled the evocative third teaser ‘Falling’, pouring an evocative choir, cinematic guitars and effortless dreaminess into an empowering narrative. Setting a scene of boldness and vulnerability, the atmosphere wilfully grows, the production conscious of every detail as the track unleashes the gospel cries and brooding accompaniment. Paying witness to Jack’s passionate realisation the music transforms from grief-filled to resolute, invoking the unshakable emotion.

Jack shares the themes behind the release, “Falling is about cutting someone loose who is dragging you down into the darkness with them. This was one of the last songs I wrote on the EP and it only took about 20 mins to create the whole thing. I was on my guitar and I just heard this choir sing FAALIng in my head. I based the whole song around the one word and all these feelings I'd had locked up for so long finally came rushing out.”

Originally hailing from Portsmouth, Jack’s move to London has seen his career begin to rapidly blossom into one of the most promising rising stars on the UK scene. His soulful vibrance and raw energy have made their way into sell-out shows at Prince Albert and Colours Hoxton and secured festival features at The Great Escape and Wild Paths.

Sonically, Jack’s music is a collection of dazed indie, alt-pop and soul. His latest project is a mesmerising and beautifully articulated reflection of his journey. His lyrics capture key introspective moments from his life as he navigates feelings of growing up, exploration of identity and masculinity, relationships, hardships and grief.
