Shiv ft: Kojaque - Cherry Pie (Single)

Irish soul songstress Shiv has released her highly anticipated new track "Cherry Pie" in collaboration with fellow countryman Kojaque.

‘cherry pie’ is a warm, juicy sounding single that is infused with charismatic charm and accompanied by lyrical integrity courtesy of Kojaque that is sure to see the release become an instant favourite across the musical landscape. It is a release that combines shiv’s beautifully smooth sound with a warm infectious beat that emanates an instant Summer feeling, all rounded together with the addition of Kojaque’s now instantly recognisable tones. ‘cherry pie’ is centered around a journey of coming home to yourself, the ability to drive away from the constant states of growth and evolution, and carefully explore moments of peace that have recently become a rarity in life.

Talking on the production process, shiv explains: “Gaptoof and I started working on this track after a DM I sent to him about hearing his song on the music podcast Are We Live back in January 2022, which sparked the beginning of our collaborative journey. We went back and forth with a couple of tracks, but cherry pie always stuck out.”  Moreover, with Gaptoof and Kojaque being labelmates at Softboy Records, perhaps it was a natural evolution for him to feature on the release, with shiv further explaining on the collaboration: “Being a huge fan of his, it really felt like the perfect addition to the track.”

Having recently released her first single ‘limerence’ from her highly anticipated new album ‘the defiance of a sad girl’, out on July 4, there is an evident upward trajectory from the rising star. Meanwhile, shiv's live performance and refreshing production has garnered previous support from The Face, Notion, Hotpress and Clash, with this year is expected to be a big year for the artist.
