Rushy - LDN (Official Video)

UK rapper Rushy shares ‘LDN’, out on 17th July via his label Rushaan Savoury. Arriving with a cinematic music video filmed throughout the capital city, it’s the latest single taken from Rushy’s upcoming mixtape, coming in late August.

‘LDN’ is a raw ode to London youth culture from the unapologetically British rapper.. The track’s an evolution of grime, with him using slang associated with old-school grime and a grime flow over a trappy UK Rap instrumental. The lyrics paint an image of Rushy “riding” the streets of the capital, making moves, as he litters his lyrics with references to typical British symbols, ie. “bulldogs on the strip”.

West London-based Straight3 collective member Rushy is no stranger to a mad music video, as we saw with ‘ESTELLE’ ft. AntsLive, in which the pair rap while tearing down the Thames on jet skis. The video for ‘LDN’, due to be revealed soon, similarly nails the brief. Produced by Double Or Nothing Productions, it reflects the city of London in all its glory and grime, showing major landmarks in one shot, and then the city’s gritty backstreets in the next. With ‘LDN’’s US-friendly drill instrumental, the video shows another side to the capital for outsiders looking in, who might think the UK is simply all about kings, queens, and crumpets.

2024 is an important year for Rushy. Not done repping London, Rushy’s recent From The Block Freestyle, featuring new track, ‘Not That Deep’, saw him spit bars in front of a looming Big Ben. The rapper released the track ‘Koko Krazy’ in April, with a music video shot in Camden’s iconic KOKO venue, gaining radio support from BBC 1Xtra, BBC Radio 1, Capital Xtra, KISS FM, and press coverage by Clash, Complex UK, TRENCH, Notion and GRM Daily. He also featured on a remix of Dee Green and Blanco’s emotional ‘Attemptless’, and in August will be dropping a freestyle on the Tiffany Calver show on BBC Radio 1 to coincide with his forthcoming mixtape release.

Having made a dent in the UK rap scene with ‘Pressure’ in June 2023 – premiered before its release on Dave and Central Cee’s Victory Lap cypher on Balamii radio, peaking at #90 on the OCC and now boasting over 40M streams – Rushy, real name Rushaan Savoury, has been smashing it. He first stepped onto the UK rap scene with ‘Trippidy Trap’ in 2019, now at over 30M streams, and in 2020 released the unmistakably honest album, ‘Stress 3’.

In the build-up to a mixtape that will show the world exactly who Rushy is, ‘LDN’ shines a light on a side of the capital city we don’t always see. An ode to the streets’ cagey hustle and bustle nature, it's another must-listen from a UK rapper that’s hitting his stride effortlessly.
