Immi Dash - Hardest To Impress (Single)

Backed by previous support by Notion, Earmilk and Wordplay, Liverpool-based talent Immi Dash has unveiled her latest single ‘Hardest To Impress’, further moving her sound down the dynamic and climactic R&B fans have witnessed so far in 2024. The hazy production is filled with waves of distant synths and reverberating processed vocal samples, receiving an injection of invasive bass punches and drum hits.

Vocally, Immi takes control of the scene, her melodies able to cut through the powerful backdrop to become the centre of attention. Layers of harmony support an emotive performance, stirring the listener with authority, bitterness and love. All this is done with such bewitching, effortless elegance, spellbinding the audience in place.

“‘Hardest To Impress’ is about the unnecessary pressures we place on ourselves to be perfect,” Immi explains. “Alba Arias (the producer & co-writer) and I had a heart-to-heart about how we’re constantly looking towards the next thing, without allowing ourselves to be grateful in the moment. This song represents letting go of those pressures and high expectations.”

Originally from Stroud, Gloucestershire, Immi Dash has built an audience around liquified melodies, smoky harmony stacks and atmospheric beats, her sound glides into the R&B world like a homecoming. Since making Liverpool her home, the singer-songwriter has performed at the Cavern Club, supported Slum Village at Future Yard on their UK tour, and showcased internationally at Rotterdam's 'New Skool Rules Festival'. Earlier this year, Immi performed as part of a Mahalia Presents show in Bristol.

Alongside these performances, Immi was chosen for Glastonbury's Emerging Talent Competition long-list 2023 and Reflector Magazine's 'One's to Watch in 2023’. Recently, Immi was part of Jess Iszatt’s BBC Introducing segment on Radio 1 for fans of Billie Eilish, introducing her mini-universes to a brand new fanbase.
