LARA’ ft: Rapsody + Harry Edohoukwa - Good Wine (Single)

Following on from her June release ‘Something About Ur Luv’, Texas based singer LARA’ drops new track ‘Good Wine’ featuring Rapsody and Harry Edohoukwa. Showcasing her incredible live performance abilities, LARA’ will be joining Rapsody on the North American leg of her ‘Please Don’t Cry’ tour this Autumn. Alongside the release, LARA’ announces her forthcoming album Luvologydue out 23rd August. The single and subsequent album release on EARTHCHILD/EMPIRE.

Good Wine’ is stirring from its opening moments, as LARA’’s airy vocals manoeuvre nimbly over the song’s bass-heavy beat. In her lyrics she expresses gratitude for her partner, who she describes as a manifestation of her deepest desires. The first feature on the track comes from Carolina’s own Rapsody, who provides the song with a slick, entendre-packed guest verse. On the song’s glitchy, tripped-out outro, Dallas newcomer Harry Edohoukwa graces listeners with his passionately sung vocals.

The Luvology album offers a holistic recounting of LARA’’s personal experiences with love, offering insight into her struggles, growth and the healing found in a healthy relationship. The project is tied together thematically with soundbites of LARA’ and her partner as they reflect on their relationship and the journey that has led them to where they are. The 15 track album contains guest features from a range of upcoming and established artists including RapsodyHarry EdohoukwaAmbréSebastian Mikael and long-term collaborator BLK ODYSSY.

LARA’ is an artist that cites the likes of generational voices including Erykah BaduAmy WinehouseLauryn Hill and Ella Ftizgerald as inspirations for her own soul-bearing, emotionally captivating work. As a long term collaborator with the multi-genre fusing BLK ODYSSYLARA’’s voice can be heard across their catalogue, adding a sense of depth and emotional gravitas to the critically acclaimed albums BLK VINTAGE and DIAMONDS & FREAKS. In 2023 LARA’ joined the band on tour, performing alongside the group and as a support act during their sold out ‘DIAMONDS & FREAKS TOUR’. LARA’ enchanted audiences all across the US & Europe, including a spellbinding performance at their sold out debut in London playing at Hoxton Hall. More recently, she has landed writing credits for North Carolina rap elite Rapsody on her fourth studio album Please Don’t Cry.

LARA’ uses her experiences as a mother, partner and Black woman navigating contemporary life to inform her musical output, offering confessional, stylised and emotionally complex works. With spirituality playing a huge role in her life and creativity, LARA’ seeks to uplift through her art and spread messages of acceptance of oneself and others.

After spending much of last year writing and featuring on tracks by the likes of RapsodyBLK ODYSSYand DendeLARA’ has since been focusing on her own work which she has begun releasing, with the singles ‘Pushaman’, ‘Like Dat’ ft. Ambré and ‘Something About Ur Luv offering an insight into the Luvology experience.
