Frozemode - KURAMA (Official Video)

Off the back of their electric performance at the iconic Download Festival, Frozemode, made up of the unbreakable trio I.V.GATLIN, Cho-Hollo, and Lisong, have returned with their latest blazing single “KURAMA”. Packed with a raw punch and gritty lyricism, Frozemode maintain their fast-rising status. Landing on the back of “BLACK HOLE” a track that “embodies the group's signature high-energy style, blending heavy drums with roaring flows” (DMY), the boys are gearing supporters up for their forthcoming mixtape, ‘DEMODE 2’ landing on August 23rd.

Arriving as the third single from the highly anticipated ‘DEMODE 2’ mixtape, “KURAMA” is an electric release that boasts a climatic production drenched in roaring electric guitars and tight lyrical flows, resulting in a wheel-up worthy single that emphasises the trio’s creative prowess. Going back-to-back with unapologetic bars, Frozemode continue to experiment with their sound, pushing an unconventional wave that resonates with many across the globe. Referencing the Naruto character Kurama, a nine-tailed beast that was used as a weapon in wars that eventually pushed a severe hostility and distrustment against humans. Reputed for its strength, resilience, and power, Frozemode alludes to the character’s traits throughout the single, “Bet the beast in me could wrap Kurama / Blow the whole roof of this dunya / Really coming like the 20 tailed beast”.

The alt-rap trio Frozemode, made up of members I.V.GATLIN, Cho-Hollo, and Lisong, made their debut at the very end of 2022. Rocketing over the course of 14 months, the trailblazing trio are known for their masterful penmanship, playful bars, and ingenious melodies. Based in the UK’s central hub, London, Frozemode are swiftly capturing the nation’s attention with their genre-warping sound that surpasses any genre’s conventions.

Arriving with tremendous support from the UK media upon their 2024 return, including Clash Magazine, NME, Wonderland, DORK, DIY, DMY, Kerrang!, an incredible 4 spins across BBC Radio 1 (Alyx Holcombe, Nels Hylton, Jess Iszatt), a spin BBC 6 Music’s ‘Best New Indie Show’ and the support of Spotify UK in their ‘Fresh Finds UK & IRE’ playlist.

In only just over 12-months, there is barely a stone left unturned for Frozemode. Being dubbed by BBC and NME, as one of the most exciting live acts to burst out of 2023, meanwhile having the approval of NME as a ‘Breakthrough’ artist. Further acclaim arriving from Complex UK, Culted, Notion, Ones To Watch, Noctis, BBC Radio 1 [Jack Saunders] on their previous releases, not to mention the passionate backing of DSP’s from Spotify UK’s ‘New Music Friday’ and ‘Fresh Finds UK & IRE’ playlists, to Apple Music’s ‘Breaking Hard Rock’ and ‘New in Alternative’ playlists.

Tenaciously imprinting on the live scene since their incarnation, the trio have joined US stars Joey Valance & Brae on a UK tour, supported Jelani Blackman, Dumb Buoys Fishing Club,  performed at Fabric’s “Live & Direct” night - alongside Tiggs Da Author, Lauren Faith and Sam Gellaitry, and headlined Abbie McCarthy’s iconic Karma Club Night. Fiercely owning their position on their first run at the festival season, with slots at Reading and Leeds - see here, 2000trees and The Great Escape last year, Frozemode have incredibly played over 50 shows, to date.

Recently taking the stage at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend (BBC Introducing Stage) the boys put on an electric performance that was equally matched as they took to Download Festival’s Dogtooth stage. Continuing to hold their stars-in-waiting status, Frozemode excel significantly with each release with their unconventional sound. Seizing the souls of alternative enthusiasts  across the nation, you can find them this summer at Reading & Leeds on the BBC Radio 1 stage, 2000trees, Deer Shed Festival, and Barnstomper Festival.
