Having recently released her high quality video for previous single ‘Fashion’, this eccentric and determined UK female rapper is about to show us what she’s all about with this new single……..and she’s ready for business.
Cookiie, also known as Cookiie With A Double i, is an extraordinarily new UK female rap artist and hat designer who has already been championed by The Source Magazine. Born in Zimbabwe, Africa and raised in London, she embodies style with a charismatic attitude and energetic vibe and can always be seen expressing her creativity through her stylish hats she designs.
Looky Looky is an energetic hip hop song with finely tuned production with strong powerful lyrics, written for any club or party. The song is about allowing yourself to have self affirmation, self confidence and self appreciation. It was written by CooKiiE and long-time collaborator Gachi, produced by Leon Acheampong also known as “Musiq Mechaniqs” and engineered by Blaks Marshall at KCX Studios London, UK. The line “You want a show then book me, the one and only CooKiiE.” shows confidence and empowerment and gives her fans that fierce dominating presence that brand CooKiiE oozies, and should inspire and motivate other artists in their journey.
Cookiie's journey has been shaped by her multicultural background and diverse influences such as Erykah Badu, Aaliyah, Mc Lyte, Missy Elliott and Queen Latifah, which have greatly contributed to her unique sound and standalone musical style which has been described as R&B, Afro, Rap with electric magnetic vibes.
Having released her first independently released single as the artist known as Cookiie called Drip Walk in 2019, along with 3 singles in 2023 including the distinctive sounds of Fashion, Breakdown and her biggest streamed song Too Much Money which was a great success in US gaining the attention of Grammy Award-winning producer and 90’s R&B legends BabyFace and Joe Thomas and later gaining 14,000 streams without any promo support or radio. With a stable foundation in the US she has gone on to collaborate with many of the top producers, creatives and industry heads including her video director Bpace (Mulatto, YFN LUCCI, Young Thug, Jaquees, and Future).
With many new releases planned for release over 2024 and 2025 she has just announced her official launch party on 11th September at Cottons, Hoxton London where Cookiie will be playing a number of new material. She continues to evolve as an artist and represents her commitment to pushing boundaries and trying to make her mark in the industry, having been quietly working in the studio over the last few months on several new projects.
