THE O’MY’S ft: PINK SIIFU - SKIPPING STARS (Single)

Hailing from Chicago, The O’MY’s have been building their steadfast fanbase with their unique brand of midwestern soul, gaining support from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, High Snobiety and many more. Comprised of two gifted musicians, The O’My’s channel their experiences and perspective into gritty, polished music that grabs listeners with its sound, and holds them with its content. Nick Hennessey and Maceo Vidal-Haymes, two Chi-town natives, man the keys and guitar respectively, with Maceo handling vocal duties. Maceo, a master writer, pens all lyrics himself, leading to emotion laden songs that resonate deeply with listeners. Having been active since 2010, the outfit have continued to constantly evolve with their sound, growing and progressing, pushing their boundaries and challenging themselves with each release. Following the incendiary single ‘Firestarter’ (and it’s chugging remix by psychedelic soul savant Jitwam), The O’My’s return to HiyaSelf Recordings Unlimited (captained by legendary producer Nightmares On Wax) with new single ‘Skipping Stars’, simultaneously announcing their forthcoming long - player, ‘I Trust The Stars’.

As proceedings commence, dreamlike chords and falsetto vocals give way to celestial harmonies and driftings motifs. Enlisting the unmistakable stylings of Birmingham, Alabama's Pink Siifu on guest vocals, the trio touch on the strength, beauty and growing pains in long term relationships & family. Reflecting on the power of manifesting your dreams with the people you love most. With lush guitars, piano and synthesisers the song takes the listener on a psychedelic cosmic journey and sets the tone for the body of work soon to follow.
