Bawo - Belly Like Homer (Single)

Following the release of his introspective A COLORS SHOW performance, West London native Bawo releases bubbly new single ‘Belly Like Homer’ on his Say Nothing Records imprint.

On ‘Belly Like Homer’, Bawo exhibits his signature playful style, employing a series of clever similes to express his determination in achieving his goals, “Tryna get belly like Homer, but I’m anything but a donut” he sings gleefully on the track’s chorus. The song’s instrumental uses buoyant bass and pitched vocals to match Bawo’s cheery yet poignant lyrics.

Releasing alongside ‘Belly Like Homer’ is ‘Hope You’re Listening’, the powerful track Bawo performed during his moving A COLORS SHOW performance at the start of the month. On ‘Hope You’re Listening’, Bawo ruminates on the various challenges of modern life, attempting to maintain balance along the turbulent journey towards financial, physical and spiritual security.

On October 25th, Bawo will release his next full length project It Means Hope Where I’m From, the follow up to his breakout 2023 project Legitimate Cause. Across It Means Hope Where I’m FromBawo encourages listeners to find the hero in themselves, rather than projecting these expectations onto others. This theme is explored in the visual assets accompanying the project, in which we see Bawo transform from mild-mannered office worker to a superhero donning the ‘Say Nothing’ logo on his chest. The rollout for the project will be highly engaging for fans, with merch launches, in-person community based activations and more, all scheduled to accompany the release.

Proving his status as an artist with global appeal, Bawo this month played to a packed out audience at Osaka Circus in Japan, gaining his first wheel up in the region as his performance whipped fans into a frenzy.

In August, Bawo released the first track from his upcoming project, the Jordy assisted ‘Magnifique’, introducing fans to the next phase of his artistic journey. Prior to this, he had spent most of the past year featuring on tracks with a range of his contemporaries including Oscar #WorldpeaceAshbecktn_490DeemaSam Wise and ATRIP.

In April, Bawo once more reinforced his status as a formidable MC and one of the capital’s most exciting talents with an inimitable appearance on the Red Bull Raise The Bar Cypher alongside fellow luminaries Capo LeeReek0 and Namani.

Being the definition of an artist on the rise, Bawo continues to unravel his multilayered artistry to the world via powerful and relatable music combined with engaging and meaningful visual storytelling. Fans of authentic, forward thinking rap music would be remiss not to tap into the Bawo frequency.
