Blaktrix returns to the mic with the Premium EP.

He teams up with long-time collaborator Mudmowth for the first two tracks. Produced by DJ Moneyshot of The Allergies, New Day is ready to kick off 2025 in style as the two MCs trade bars going back to back whilst moving on from the past and looking to the future. An uplifting banger of a track that has had everyone who hears it put it straight back on repeat.

The energy continues with Matte (待って), a reference that fans of the Bear and Bloodsport may recognise. This is a laid-back, chilled head nodder featuring smooth cuts by DJ Moneyshot and an atmospheric beat by UK heavyweight producer Morriarchi. This is not the first time that Morriarchi and Blaktrix have combined to craft the stripped back, muted, dusty sound which can be heard on Matte. It worked a treat on their 2020 release 'No Camo'. This time Mudmowth joins the party and the result is a classic feel, the beat and the contrast with Mud providing the perfect canvas for Blaktrix’s distinctive flows.

The EP closes with So Far Apart, produced by the Welsh Music Prize nominee Minas, one of Wales' most promising rising talents. Written during the COVID-19 pandemic, So Far Apart is a deeply personal track that touches on the emotional toll of separation and celebrates the importance of family. With its dreamy, introspective production, it’s an emotional standout on the project.

All tracks on Premium have been mixed and mastered by Rola, Khameleon Studios, ensuring the EP delivers a polished sound to complement the raw talent and creativity on display.

In addition to air play on BBC 1 Xtra, Wales and Introducing, shorts on HTV Wales and commendations by both Wire and Clash magazine, Blaktrix’ previous collaborations include working with UK rap luminary Sonnyjim on 'Shoey' and featuring on the most recent album by iconic UK hip-hop group Gunshot.
