Kwoli Black - Sorry For Your Loss (freestyle) (Official Video)

London, UK – Kwoli Black, the genre-defying artist known for his intricate lyricism and thought-provoking sound, begins the new year with the release of his highly anticipated single, "Sorry For Your Loss (freestyle)." Following a standout year in 2024, this freestyle offers a raw and powerful glimpse into Kwoli's evolving artistry as he continues to push boundaries in the UK music scene.

‘Sorry For Your Loss Freestyle’ is Kwoli’s latest offering - a punchy, cheeky and somewhat flagrant rap offering where Kwoli addresses his past love interests in a light that differs to what we’re used to hearing. It’s braggadocious but in a different way. He weaves real life experiences and thoughts into each bar as he flows effortlessly on the sampled beat by producer JSTRNGS (Pip Milet, Sneakbo, and Ojerime).

On the writing Kwoli said: “I kinda just stopped caring man. I had all these comments and moments where I was painted as the bad guy by past situations and I was so used to being known as this loverboy, sweet guy that I thought to myself “cool, lemme show you what that sounds like, because you’re not gonna like it, but I’m gonna love it. It’s petty I know, but once in a while you gotta do something a little different”.

Kwoli’s rise has been meteoric last year, with notable releases such as his Can I Speak EP and a string of singles—including "Not Your Man" and "Moments", featuring Elsa—showcasing his unique blend of Rap, R&B, and genre-defying influences. Influenced by a diverse range of artists—Tyler, The Creator, Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Kojey Radical, and Loyle Carner—Kwoli’s sound is marked by its individuality, exploring both personal experiences and societal issues with honesty and vulnerability.

2024 proved to be a breakout year for Kwoli. His music received widespread support from major platforms, including BBC R1, 1Xtra, Clash, Notion, and GUAP. He was also invited to perform at BBC Introducing’s showcase in London, curated by Jess Iszatt, and ended the year with a splash, making appearances on the Fashion Awards red carpet alongside global icons such as Rihanna and ASAP Rocky.

As Kwoli prepares to unveil his next body of work, fans can expect exciting collaborations and a continued evolution of his distinct sound. For now, "Sorry For Your Loss (freestyle)" serves as a tantalizing preview of what’s to come, with Kwoli’s unmistakable flow and sharp lyricism front and center.
