Arriving with her first release of the year, multi faceted artist Cristale kicks off 2025 with full force on slick new single ‘Ready 2 Go’, in collaboration with none other than Toddla T.
On ‘Ready 2 Go’, Cristale exemplifies why she is deserving of her nomination as Best Hip Hop Act for the upcoming MOBO Awards. Delivering a stream of witty bars, taking a humorous glance at the stresses of city life, dealing with fake friends and balancing the various challenges that come with being an artist on the rise, it’s safe to say that Cristale is on top form throughout the record. As the first in a string of bangers created with UK icon Toddla T, the instrumental has a classic hip-hop feel; the sparse production and crisp drums providing the perfect backdrop for Cristale’s storytelling skills to take centre stage.
Speaking on what the track means to her, Cristale says, “Ready 2 Go is one of my favourite songs that I’ve ever made, a real feel good track that does exactly what it says on the tin, makes you feel like you’re ready to go and face the world. This song is supposed to motivate you to keep going, and remind you that you’re working towards something bigger.”
Reflecting on collaborating with Toddla T, she adds: “Working with Toddla is honestly one of the most freeing experiences I’ve had in my life. The day we started working together, he taught me what co-production was and showed me different ways an artist can get involved in the instrumentation process to make the song feel as full as possible.”
Cristale has spent most of the past year locked in the studio, collaborating with Toddla T and others to create a batch of fresh music that will be released throughout 2025 as she enters the next stage of her burgeoning career. For the first time, Cristale is now a totally independent artist and free to take full creative control of her musical output. As a musician who has never conformed to the strict boundaries of genre, fans of Cristale can expect to see her continue to expand her sound into any area she wishes as she takes full control of her artistry.
Although a relative newcomer to the industry, Cristale has already highlighted herself as a diverse and unique talent. Since first making waves in 2022 with the viral smash ‘Bong Bing’, Cristale has moved from strength to strength, gaining widespread recognition for her versatility as an artist, able to move between genre and style with an apparent effortless ease. Milestones in her career have included a viral freestyle with Teezandos on Plugged In w/ Fumez The Engineer, a Nike Women’s World Cup Daily Duppy, her acting debut in critically acclaimed drama Top Boy (as well as making official single ‘Roadents’), which was shortly followed by a role in Daniel Kaluuya’s directorial debut The Kitchenand an electrifying live performance at the 2024 MOBO Awards. Continuing to light up the small and big screen, her most recent acting role was as a recurring character in the 2024 Channel 4 drama Queenie. Elsewhere, Cristale featured in a social media advertising campaign for JD Sports in collaboration with Nike, highlighting the new Air Max Dn, with her track ‘Will You Ever?’ soundtracking the ad.
