Maryland’s breakout rapper/singer, Joony, makes his COLORS SHOW debut with a captivating performance of his forthcoming single “Dopa(MINE)”. Showcasing his melodic flows and vulnerable lyrics on the legendary COLORS stage, Joony cements why he’s one of the most exciting artists to watch this year. The warmth of the peach tones and his syrupy thick vocals enrich the woozy instrumentals on “Dopa(MINE)”, an addictive track with relatable subtext on codependency.

‘Dopa(MINE)’ is a record of self reflection, and admitting to yourself that you don’t feel whole without your other half/vice,” Joony shares. Your other half could be your partner, social media, sex, drugs, etc. It’s written from the perspective of your other half asking if you feel whole without them. The question is meant to make you think deeply about the relationship you have with your vices, and determine whether or not it’s a healthy one.

The DMV native is coming off a year of explosive growth, having toured with 2x Grammy-nominated artist Blxst and released a joint EP with frequent collaborator Jordan Ward. Joony’s genre-bending versatility has earned him fans from regional rap to laid-back R&B and experimental hip-hop, never staying in one space for too long. His COLORS performance is a testament to his mass appeal and just the start of a groundswell to come.
