PREMIERE: Feyvo x Katherine Aly - Like Me (Single) + 10 Questions

The collaboration between the rapper and singer was sparked after both appeared on the same BBC Introducing Scotland show in October 2024. Their instant connection led to an impromptu writing session, where Like Me was born within just a couple of hours.

A track brimming with attitude and energy, Like Me is an unapologetic celebration of female confidence and independence. With sharp, witty bars from Feyvo and Katherine Aly’s signature vocals delivering a powerhouse hook, the song encapsulates the essence of girls owning the night—having fun, going out, and refusing to let anyone bring them down.

Speaking about the collaboration, Feyvo said: “Katherine and I clicked straight away. We wanted to create something that felt authentic, fun, and full of energy. ‘Like Me’ is exactly that – it’s for the girls who know their worth.”

Katherine Aly added: “There’s something magical about spontaneous creativity. ‘Like Me’ came together so effortlessly, and it’s a song that radiates empowerment and fun in equal measure.”

With an irresistible beat, infectious melodies, and an undeniable chemistry between the two artists, Like Me is set to make waves. Get ready to turn up the volume when it drops on 21 March 2025.

Feyvo & Katherine Aly sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:

1. So tell me, how did it all begin? What sparked your love for music?

Feyvo: My love for music started as a child. I used to write my own lyrics, create beats in my head and hope I’d remember it the next day as I didn’t have any phone to record myself. My love for rap came much later on in life and I took a chance with it. Ever since, I’ve been enjoying the process so far.

Katherine: My best friend messaged one day when we were in high school to say she joined a band and I should too. Never looked back!

2. How did you both meet and what inspired this song?

Katherine: We were featured on the same BBC Introducing show last October; I listened to Feyvo’s track ‘Shot’ and had it on repeat the next morning dancing to it. Then I made a story, tagged her and we started chatting. Couple of weeks later she came over to mine and 2 hours or so later we had 'Like Me’.

3. How would you describe your individual sounds?

Feyvo: I would say my sound is bold, confident and fun. I tend to gravitate towards music that makes you feel good about yourself which is what I try to reflect in my music. I also love to switch up my flows and melody, adding depth to each song.

Katherine: My music falls generally under the alt-pop category but I identify as genre agnostic; think Billie Eilish meets Charlie XCX meets Björk meets Self Esteem meets Chappell Roan - I could go on and on.

4. What do you hope listeners take away from listening to ‘Like Me’?

Feyvo: I just want people to have fun with this track. Whether you’re in the club, at a party, or even just getting ready to go out. ‘Like Me’ is meant to be a song that makes you move, it’s playful and about good vibes.

Katherine: That you shouldn’t let men ruin your night, let alone your life!

5. Who are some artists that influence you and that you want to work with in the future?

Feyvo: I appreciate a lot of female rappers who are paving the way for other women as well as legends like Missy Elliott, Trina, and Eve. They’ve all brought something unique to the game. My favourite artist is Bruno Mars and working with him would be a dream.

Katherine: If I was ever be selected to support Self Esteem, I probably wouldn’t make it to the tour because I would die first the moment I’d get the news.

6. What's your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?

Feyvo: I’m still new in the music scene but so far, it’d be getting track of the week by BBC Introducing for our track together. That recognition meant a lot. Overall, I’m proud of stepping outside of my comfort zone- doing things I never thought I’d have been able to as an introvert.

Katherine: Supporting Honeyblood was a definite highlight for me, BBC Introducing Scotland playing all 4 of my new EPs songs was surreal and also adding dancers to my live shows - unmatched energy.

7. Do you have any advice for our readers who may be trying to play the mad game of music?

Feyvo: Push yourself and be confident in your work even when it feels like no one is supporting you. Trust the process as growth takes time. Networking is also key- reach out to other artists and form a connection with them.

Katherine: Be authentic; the industry is too saturated for us to be copying each other.

8. What projects do you have coming up and can you give us any info on them?

Feyvo: I plan on dropping a few freestyles, collaborate more and then pivot into dropping my own album eventually.

Katherine: More music, more roasting toxic men on TikTok and keep your eyes peeled for things I can’t reveal yet.

9. What do you like to do when you're not making music?

Feyvo: When I’m not making music, I’m listening to music. I’m also trying to go back to learning Spanish on Duolingo so hopefully I’ll be more consistent this time without Duo coming at me.

Katherine: Sex.

10. Name Three things you can't live without when in the studio?

Feyvo: My phone because that’s where all my lyrics are, some snacks or fruits to keep me going and a drink of choice.

Katherine: Reverb plugin, my lyric notes and water for them vocal cords!
