2024 calls for a fresh marketing drive in order to generate some much needed revenue for the magazine; Brand partnerships, sponsorships and solid advertising deals will enable us to grow across web/social, print, video and events in a genuinely substantial way.
The role will involve making and maintaining new brand relationships, whilst highlighting partnership opportunities across Wordplay’s increasingly varied output. Our current main areas of focus – aside from increasing revenue overall – are adding a suitable, long-term sponsorship for our Sessions video productions, alongside gaining a brand partner for our forthcoming regular live music night. We’re also seriously considering going back into print in 2024, which is a costly venture alone.
Essentially, we are looking for someone to spearhead the marketing drive and take initiative at every given chance.

Role Responsibilities
Compile and maintain ‘database’ of relevant contacts from suitable/potential brands and make consistent contact wherever possible – considering GDPR.
Lead on market research – unearth otherwise unconsidered niché markets/brands.
Develop marketing strategies, outlining new ideas by collaborating with other members of the Wordplay team – editorial, design, journalists & photographers – and monitor campaigns’ effectiveness, relaying key data/analysis to feedback/improve where possible.
Clearly define our marketing/advertising spaces and develop packages, compiling from: premium blog content, web advert ‘real estate’ (banners, carousel, etc.), print advertisements, advertorial content, WORN fashion section partnerships, SESSIONS sponsorship and wherever new ideas arise.

We work entirely remotely and under no-fixed hours.
