10 Questions: Yung Saber
We’re back with another round of 10 Questions to get the lowdown on artists that are on our radar. This time we got rapper/actor Yung Saber in the hot-seat for some quick-fire questions. He’s just dropped his title-track single A Whole Mood from his forthcoming EP late next month. Be sure to peep the tasty music video for it too! Go, go, go…
1. Contestant, what’s your name, chosen craft and where are you based?
Yung Saber I’m an artist/actor from south east London (Peckham).
2. How would you describe your sound?
My sound is more of a universal sound I make more than one genre I’ve never put myself in a box like most artists do.
3. Who/what do you consider to be the biggest influence on your music?
Brakeman and Giggs, with them both being from Peckham. It gave me a push in the sense of, if you keep going you can become a key holder and open doors
4. What’s the proudest moment to date for you as an artist?
Being featured in migrant sound documentary, Brotherhood & Blue story. Other than that a lot of people don’t know that I do a lot behind the scenes as a A&R. So for me I love seeing artist I’ve helped become house hold names like Kwengface from (Zone 2) that’s just one of many.
5. Do you have any advice for our readers who maybe trying to play the mad game of music?
My advice is for anyone making music or whatever it may be is don’t stop continue to hit them hard until you crack the surface and make sure you have genuine people around you and also remember nobody will believe in your craft more than you do.
6. Name 3 people you would love to work with and why?
People I would love to work with are: Jada Kingdom,Vybz Kartel & Drake. The reason behind that is I think all 3 are incredible artists.
7. What have you got planned for the not so distant future?
Plans for the future are to keep pushing quality music, giving you guys some sick visuals and hopefully if things get better regarding COVID 19 then giving you guys some sick shows, I can’t wait!
8. What’s the album you’ve played more than any other?
Album I’ve played the most is 50 cent (Get Rich Or Die Trying) or Dizzee Rascal (Boy In Da Corner)
9. What’s the best concert you’ve been to and where was it?
Best concert had to be Popcaan at Wembley arena.
10. Name three things you can’t live without?
Three things I can’t live without is my kids, food & music!
