Chie & King Bracket - Steezy Wonders (Debut Vinyl LP)

Plenty of heads in Kent are well aware that the unsung region has a heavy hip hop underbelly with UK Boom Bap sounds infiltrating spaces from stoner sessions to illegal raves. The rest of the country might still be playing catch up, but the sounds from the coast are steadily creeping inland. Day one Brain Scran Records family, Chie & King Bracket, represent the cream of the grubby crop.

The two of them have been in the lab sweating over heaters for the last year which have amounted to their debut LP Steezy Wonderz and the result is enough fire to make Koalas extinct. To their credit, the MC and producer duo said from day one that their first album would have no features on it. They wanted to make a body of work that stood as an uninterrupted opening statement that was 100% their own. The album that has emerged, although just the start of their journey, has the feel of two artists who have already honed their craft into a fully formed sound. Drawing heavily on UK Boom Bap and weaving it into something unique to them.
