Lord Apex & V Don - Supply & Demand (Album)
Lord Apex - one of London's most exciting emerging rappers - has dropped his new album, Supply & Demand - [ADD LINK]
Supply & Demand is a transatlantic collaboration with V Don - a New York producer whose credits include A$AP Rocky, Dave East and the Griselda Records crew.
Apex opens proceedings with statement of intent, Level Up ("I'm tryna level up, wanna see change"), and continues to balance bravado with easy-going introspection throughout. Supply & Demand showcases his hazy, weed-fuelled rhymes and compellingly laid-back style - the album also features Michigan rapper Willie The Kid, founding member of the Pro Era collective CJ Fly and underground champ Murs.
Although only 23-years-old, Lord Apex (AKA, Sensei, Yardie Miyagi, AP) takes inspiration from an earlier era and artists such as Busta, Missy, Wu-Tang, Dilla at their peak. So far, his highlights include Spliff In The Morning (currently at +1.8m YouTube views), EM3, recent sessions for Boiler Room and Colors, plus Apex was recently chosen to support Yasiin Bey (FKA Mos Def) on his post-lockdown shows across Europe.
