Hull’s rap pioneer, Chiedu Oraka drops his next single to round off 2021, ‘Maggie To Sip’ out now.

Taking a more mellow approach, ‘Maggie To Sip’ brings a softer side to Chiedu’s output. Maintaining the powerful lyricism he’s known for, ‘Maggie To Sip’ thrives off it’s subtle energy and sharp percussive kicks. The track lands following a successful 2021, including the release of his 7-track EP, ‘Ave Life’ which drew attention from Kenny Allstar (1Xtra), Jeremiah Asimiah (Radio One), Grime Shutdown (Spotify) and Charlie Sloth (Apple Music) amongst others. Also making his TV debut on Channel Dave for new series, ‘British As Folk’ and a guest appearance on Channel 4’s ‘Steph’s Packed Lunch’, Chiedu continues to showcase his versatility and dynamism within UK Black Music, his social poetry on the Northern Black experience taking centre-stage as he leads Northern talent to the forefront.

‘Maggie To Sip is the ultimate vibe. The marriage between my bars and the beat could only have worked if my delivery were laid back and smooth. I’m confident to experiment with sounds and flows and as soon as I heard the Afro-style percussion I was hooked straight away. I feel like this track is a sick way to end the year; giving my listeners another surprise. I say surprise as I don’t think anyone would expect me to deliver a song like this.
