MIDISOFI - Purplebook (Single)

Hailing from Norway with her debut solo single MIDISOFI with ‘Purplebook’. She is better know as the lead singer of 8 piece neo-soul Grammy-nominated outfit Fieh.

It starts with irresistible drums, and then beautiful synth like sounds followed by soulful vocals. A sun-drenched track for the summer for the picnic in the shade or that festival you’ve been longing for. It gives off a modern-pop, trippy, electro-soul ethereal sound quite unique fusion even somewhat quixotic in the best way. The track is adventurous, with an irreverent sense of digital playfulness.

Sofie says: “I have made music in Logic since I was about 16, but as I started playing in a band soon after that, the Logic productions were not my priority. However, I always made a lot of music in Logic, both for fun and as demos to show to my bands. When Norway went into lockdown in March 2020, I had no gigs to play, I couldn’t rehearse with anyone else, and it took weeks before I could even meet people. Therefore I had a huge amount of time to keep making stuff in Logic...and I did. I also played a lot of video games at the time, GTA and Skyrim, and being disconnected from the world in that way was actually inspiring to me. It gave me the time I needed to realise, damn, I can actually produce nice things myself. MIDISOFI is inspired by a very desire to feel free, and to make whatever I wish, to do it all myself, and to make my exact wishes come true without compromise, I wanted to make music that is a blend of everything I love - N.E.R.D. and Pharrell, Outkast, Frank Ocean, Gorillaz, Björk and Kate Bush. Producing my own music feels like the ultimate liberation to me”.
