Riding high on the release of his two irresistible singles “Angel” and “Illusions”, London R&B sensation Kwaku Asante unveils his hotly anticipated sophomore EP ‘ODE’,.

Asante teased the project with ‘Illusions’ and ‘Angel’ earlier in 2021, and his eloquence extends to the EP in its entirety. Brimming with insightful, introspective lyricism, ODE touches on themes of family, love, faith, and frustration, from the longing of lovers’ anthem “Angel” to the mournful “Before You Go”. Water-tight production from Dan Holloway ties the project together – from R&B bass grooves to stripped back drums and emotive melodies.

Speaking on the EP, Kwaku shared, “I wrote this EP talking about the current stage I am at in my life, being a young black man from a religious household trying to navigate a very treacherous and turbulent industry. This is a new terrain and space that I’m operating in, I do not want to unravel for the sake of my health and the people closest to me.
