Aida Lae - 90's Baby (Single) + (Official Video)

Swedish artist Aida Lae shares her latest single ‘90’s Baby’ released via Insanity Records. A nostalgic anthem drawing upon influences from 90’s culture and music, with a swaggering R&B feel at it’s core. Taking inspiration from a host of the greatest pop artists such as The Spice Girls, Rihanna and Aaliyah, Aida merges 90’s and 00’s music with her own signature style of R&B and Pop to create a track that keeps you hooked and oozes confidence.

Speaking about the track, Aida writes: 

"The song is a fun play on all the things that made me happy and passionate growing up. The typical 90s music video with dance choreography, the fresh sounds and visual elements etc. All those vibes and more really made an impact on my life and this song is a testament to that.”

Alongside the single’s release comes an official music video, something that pays homage to some iconic 90’s music videos (Destiny’s Child’s ‘Bills Bills Bills’, ‘TLC’s No Scrubs’) Set inside a neon beauty salon with old-school cutaways and holographic silver rooms, the video perfectly encapsulates the 90’s vibe brought forward to 2021.

The playful and joyous ode to Aida’s early musical inspirations has already pricked the ears of Maya Jama who also features in the music video and handpicked the song to soundtrack her new MIJ Masks skincare campaign.

Aida Lae has shown that she’s only going up, with a year that’s seen her line up alongside the likes of Skepta and Ed Sheeran on Ghetts’ recent #2 album ‘Conflict of Interest’, ink a deal with Insanity Records (Tom Grennan, Joy Crookes) and collaborate with ‘Thank You, Next’ writer Tayla Parx on recent single ‘Heartbroke’, you’re going to want to stay tuned for what comes next!
