Hotly tipped rapper French The Kid returns with the up-front new single “White Wine”, a first taster of new music following the release of his debut mixtape “Never Been Ordinary” earlier this year.

“White Wine” expertly weaves high-energy lyricism over low-slung drill basslines and skittering hats. French’s distinct flow is direct and potent, ducking and weaving atop the growl of 808 subs, the vocal intensity artfully complemented by the sombre melodic flute samples and hushed piano chords, with production credits from one of the UK’s most in-demand producers M1OnTheBeat (Drake, Headie One, Digga D).

There are clear nods to French’s heritage throughout, running through verses while being drawn by horses, a solid shout out to the traveller community he grew up around and a nod to his grassroots demeanour.
