SABRI - Broken Promises (Single)
Breaking out of The Netherlands, singer-songwriter SABRI enters dramatically with new single ‘Broken Promises’. The emotive ballad sees the vocalist showcase her impressive storytelling ability, whilst also using the release as an opportunity to announce her forthcoming EP Actually, I Can., which will officially be released on Friday 11th November.
Produced by Paperboy Fabe, Jordan Ware and Yves “Bus” Bazelais, the gripping piano-led instrumental is laced with infectious guitar strings, and has been set up perfectly for SABRI to step in and deliver a soulful performance which explores the complexities of a break-up on the horizon, but holding onto the promises that have been made previously.
Speaking on the track SABRI said: “I wrote ‘Broken Promises’ while I was on a writing trip in LA. I got in the studio with Paperboy Fabe who is also the executive producer of my upcoming EP and we just started vibing on the piano. I remember vividly that I felt inspired to create but had nothing specific in mind. When this happens, I just like to go with the flow and write whatever is in my heart. ‘Broken Promises’ is soul music that literally came from my soul that day. It describes how sometimes you already see a break-up coming but you keep holding on to promises that have been made previously.”
Preceding her EP Actually, I Can., the single is a strong introduction into the world she has crafted with her music and sound.
