Mikano - Tell a Lie (Official Video)
A couple of weeks back, Mikano released AKWA II, his nine-track EP that includes stand out singles 'Fug'd Up', 'J. Bezos' and 'Touché Coulé' that we gave special treatment to in a recent site feature. Another one of those tracks that Mikano didn't want to fly under the radar is 'Tell a Lie'. It's one of the more unassuming numbers with its mellow tones and laidback rap flow, but the message here isn't one to be missed. At its core, this relaxed and melody-driven number is a modern poem about honesty and human relationships. It is an essay about how we feel compelled to act and speak falsely, even deceiving our loved ones, because we can't face the inconvenient truth. Mikano tells it how it is - we all lie, but that doesn't mean we love each other any less.
As was the case with 'Touché Coulé', Mikano has teamed up with some talented filmographers and actors to bring his ideas to life in a music video. Directed by Ferina and produced by Incendie, there's three storylines - the lovers, the mother and son, and the friend group - to testify to being human, making mistakes and vulnerability.
