In her latest vlog exclusive to Wordplay, Vicky Pasion gives us a behind-the-scenes teaser for her upcoming MOBO-supported EP, SOUL STAR. Shot at a studio in North London, this vlog provides an intimate look at the inner workings of an artist in their element.

Teasing a glimpse of the process behind recording her new track ‘Burn Slow’, Pasion explores all she holds in her heart and mind within the safe space of the studio. Having made it through the waves of hurt, loss, and heaviness that have weighed down on the past two years, ‘Burn Slow’ is about acknowledging the shadows and choosing to face the light.

With this song, Pasion chooses to slow down – it’s a deep breath, an exhale. Easing into the new season of Spring, Pasion embraces patience, and lets go of judgement and expectations. In burning slow, Pasion grows into her womanhood and takes ownership of her own voice. In the studio, she experiments with her vocals, accessing higher ranges and becoming louder than ever before. She takes up space, and she enjoys it – in allowing her fire to burn, Pasion emanates a soulful warmth.
